This is Alex' first diary entry, since he was in Australia!

11 January - 1.45

I've been in Australia for exactly 66 hours and 3 minutes.

And what for a time i've had!

Tom wasn't at the airport to meet me (he's in London!!),

but Mary, Dominic and Luke have all made me feel really

at home. Been body surfing on Bondi Beach. Played my

first live concert - $40 to show for it! And met Dani.

Dani Klavans - the most beautiful girl in the world. Long

dark hair. Blue eyes. Golden skin. Perfect! Thank heavens

Tom came from Sydney!

Chapter Two : Hello Australia

H: 'What do you think, about Alex

first 66 houres in Oz?'

I think it was a little shock for Alex:

First he had to leave his family in England, then,

after a very long flight, he had to find out that his
father Tom was in London for a business trip,
and this not for the first time!

I can't believe that Tom was maybe hundreds of
times in London and he never called Alex, or wrote
letters to him! I can really understand that Alex
was angry with his father!

But thank goodness there was Toms friendly
family in Sydney: Toms wife Mary and the two
children Dominic (six years old) and Luke (three
years old).
After a great swim in the sea, Mary introduced
Dani to him, a beautiful girl who lived next door
and played the keyboards in a famous pop group.
She even asked him if he wanted to play the bass
guitar in this band, because the bassist had left for
Japan.

I think, Alex was really happy at this time! He got
to know a very friendly and beautiful girl, and then
he had the chance to play with a very famous pop
band!

I can imagine, that she might be his girl friend. What
do you think about that?

Chapter One: The Trip of a lifetime (H)

When I read the title of this book, I thought 'Oh no!

Please not something like this!', becaus I found the title

very boring, and I couldn't imagine, what was the

book about!

After the first chapter, I think that this book could be

not so boring as I thought before.

It's about the British, eighteen- year-old-boy Alex,

who passed his exam and wanted to make a trip to

his father, who lived in Australia since he was

divorced from Alexs mother. Alex hadn't seen his

father since he was two-and-a-half.

I think, that Alex must be very curious to get to know

his father, and I can understand him. But if I was in

his situation, I would be angry, that my father hadn't

asked for me after sixteen years! But of course I

would be very nervous and I think, Alex is it also!
