Suddenly the band is not succesful. Pete and Joe
drink a lot and shave their heads, they become
rascists.
At a concert is a fight and Dani and Alex have an
argument.
Dani and Alex move to England.
They have a new band: "The dolphins".
They celebrate New Year's Eve.

Chapter Eight : Up to the top ...

So my BTM!
In my opinion, it was really interesting to read the situation,
when they were at Byron Bay and looked to the dolphins. It
was excited to see how the realationship between Alex and
Dani delveloped. That they were a couple and so on and that
he had learned, that Dani had good reasons for the things she
said. (compare page 48/line 21-22)
I find it good, that Alex learned to respect Danis opinion and
that they became to be a couple!
What do you think about this?

Chapter Seven : Father and son


After reading chapter 7:
1. Comment on the following quote: "And, of course,
Alex understood only too well." (p.43, l.33)
2. Write a different ending of the chapter: "That
night, when Alex had gone to sleep, TOM picked up
his diary and began writing." (compare p.43, l.34f)



1. In this chapter, Alex and Tom got to know each other. Tom
explained Alex, why he left his mom, because he didn't want
to become an adult. And while Alex spend the time with Tom,
Alex understand what Tom meant.

2. That night, when Alex had gone to sleep, Tom picked up his
diary and began writing.

Friday, 8 Feburary
Now, Alex is for a month in Australia. Today he asked
me questions, why I left him and his mom and that it
must had so bored with them. I was really shocked!
Why he thought something like that?! I tried to explain
it to him and I think he understood me.
I am really sorry, for that what I've done. But I can't
turn back time! And I was so young....
I hope he can forgive me...

Chapter Six : Into the rain forest

H: - Befor you read the 6th chapter:

Predict what Alex tells Tom when he

meets him for the first time after 16

years.

- After you read the 6th chapter:

What did Alex said? Where you right?

Give evidence from the text (quote!).

If you ask me, Alex will be very nervous and a little bit shy,
because he doesn't know his father. I think, first he won't
know what he can ask! Maybe he will tell something about
himself. Maybe he will tell something about his mom.

I think I was right, that Alex will be nervous and shy. But
I hadn't expected, that they have an argument! Alex was
really angry, that Tom never noticed him. I can really
understand him! But I think, Tom was really sorry, but I
don't understand why he thought, hat Alex didn' want to
see him! I think, every child want to see and get to know
his father!

"You didn't even send me a Christmas card!" he shouted. "I can
understand hat you might forget my birthday. But Christmas!
Every year I hoped and prayed that you would remember. But
no. Nothing! Can't you imagine how that made me feel?"
(page 31/line 23-27)

Chapter Five : The face in the crowd

Chapter Four : The big decision

H: Dani and Alex have their first disagreement.

- Why?

- What it is about?

- What's your opinion about that?

In this chapter Alex and Dani told about

fame. When they were at 'Summerland

Beach', there saw lots of tourists which

looked at penguins. The penguins build

little nests in the sand-dunes and every

evenig, they returned from the sea to fed

their babies.

Alex didn't like, how the tourists looked

at the penguins, but Dani said 'I thought

you liked being in the spotlight.' (p. 24/l. 8)

and so it gave a little disagreement about

that.

I think Alex and Dani had a very exhausting

week and so both were very tired. In my

opinion it was only natural, that they had a disagreement.

To be always with the same persons on way,

is really tiring.

Chapter Three : The island and the mountain

H: - Describe what happens on top of St. Mary's Peak.

- Why does Alex think 'Let him see how he likes it'?

Who is he? What will he like or not?

Alex went with Kevin (Toms nephew) to the St. Mary's

peak, a very high mountain (1190m). Kevin told him

things about Tom and Alex was very surprised when he

heard all these things. Kevin also said, that Tom forgot

Alex. Alex was very angry in that moment.

I think, Alex ment his father, when he thought that.

Alex remembered that his father was coming back from

London this evening and that Tom will be very surprised

when he saw that Alex wouldn't be there.
